Here are 50 random observations I have discovered and learned through my many life experiences.

  1. Life is best lived, and personal growth happens outside of our comfort zones.
  2. If someone else can do something, then it is potentially possible for you, or someone else, to do it too.
  3. Feeling fear is not bad, but our reactions to feeling fear can be.
  4. Feeling anger is not bad, but the way we release it can be.
  5. If you are not where you want to be in life, then change something.
  6. Failure can be the key to success. It is ok to fail.
  7. It is never too late to change your life.
  8. People are different and have different gifts, experiences, and viewpoints. This is ok, and this makes for a better society.
  9. Money is not the root of evil, but greed may be.
  10. Feeling emotions both good and bad are needed in life for true balance.
  11. It is ok to avoid and limit exposure to certain people when they disrespect you no matter who they are.
  12. Expectations can lead to disappointment when not satisfied. If you keep expectations high, then the possibility of disappointment is higher. If you keep expectations low, then there can be a possibility of reward.
  13. On our deathbeds we do not long for our possessions, but we do for experiences and those we love.
  14. You can start over somewhere new, but you cannot run from yourself.
  15. What works for someone else may not work for you. Find what works for you.
  16. You can learn from anyone.
  17. The past is gone. We make can only make decisions in the present to affect our future.
  18. There is a different between something being hard and something being futile.
  19. Dreams and goals can and do change.
  20. Some arguments are not worth having.
  21. If we are happy all the time, then our less happy moments become our sad times.
  22. If someone wants to see you, then they will find a way and make time.
  23. Your emotions and feelings can block or be in conflict with your intuition. Balance them before making big decisions.
  24. Seek those who accept you unconditionally. Accept others you care about the same way.
  25. Not everyone will like you. This is ok.
  26. Rules are rules for a reason, (even when it is a bad reason). We make not like them, but they should be followed. We can however work to change them.
  27. Try to learn something new every day. It will keep your brain and skills fresh.
  28. Men and women can be platonic friends, and it is good to have opposite sex friends.
  29. Time is often more important than money.
  30. The world owes you nothing. Consider the good things you get a gift.
  31. All are not created equal. All are created unique. We all have different gifts and skills.
  32. All living creatures have a purpose. After all, snake venom has been shown to treat human diseases.
  33. It is ok to change your mind or stance on an issue or topic. You are not a “flip-flopper” doing this. You are nuanced.
  34. Getting drunk or high does not solve your problems. It just delays you from thinking about how to solve them.
  35. Expressing your feelings shows strength not weakness. Letting your emotions control you though is a weakness.
  36. We all feel lonely at some point. It is normal.
  37. Sometimes when we fail it has nothing to do with us or our abilities. It is due to not being taught properly how to succeed.
  38. When you let someone affect your emotions, you are giving them power over you.
  39. There are people we grow apart from, but this does not mean we or they stop caring.
  40. Dying is inevitable. Respect that it will happen, but do not live in fear of it happening.
  41. You can develop your own meaning for a piece of art or music even if it is grotesquely different than the artist’s intention.
  42. People do change. You can influence them, but you cannot change them.

  48. Emulate and learn from those who you want to be more like.
  49. Listen to multiple points of view before making your own decision.
